The villa complex was designed by the internationally renowned British architect David Chipperfield. The two connected building cubes are staggered up a terraced slope. With its very clean lines and walls made of light stone, the villa fits perfectly into the Mediterranean landscape. For this design, Chipperfield was inspired by the pergolas of the south, which here, supported by narrow concrete columns in light gray, provide an airy roof for the terraces. The columns take up the lines of the cypress trees in the Mediterranean landscape reaching towards the blue sky. The hillside location allows the pool and terrace to be placed behind the buildings at roof height. The view from there, far over Lake Garda, is unique.
